About Crunchy Peas

Updated on

Crunchy Peas is an independent guide site about rice cookers. We help you pick one that suits the rice you eat and the number of people you feed.

You don't need to know what "micom" or "IH" means before you start. We explain each term in plain words the first time it comes up.

What we cover

Our guides cover basic, micom, induction and pressure rice cookers from brands like Tiger, Zojirushi, Cuckoo, Toshiba and Cosori. We sort them by household size, inner pot, rice type and budget.

We also answer the questions that come after you buy: water ratios, brown rice, keep-warm limits, sticky rice and boil-overs.

What we do

We read the specs, features and maker information for every rice cooker we cover. We also look at what buyers often mention after cooking with one for a while.

Then we turn that into short lists, side-by-side matchups and plain answers. Our How we research page explains the steps.

What we don't do

We don't make or sell rice cookers, and no brand pays us to rank its products.

We aren't affiliated with Tiger, Zojirushi, Cuckoo, Toshiba, Cosori or any other maker.

We don't claim to have cooked with every model we cover. When we pick one, we tell you why, based on its specs, its features and buyer feedback.

How we earn money

Some links on this site go to stores like Amazon. If you buy through them, we may earn a small commission at no extra cost to you.

That never changes which rice cookers we pick. Our affiliate disclosure has the details.
